Photos are ready!

We had a fantastic ski assembly on Friday morning looking back at the photographs from our ski week and celebrating the children's successes both on and off the slopes.

If you'd like a digital copy of all of the photographs (over 200 to look through!) plus our ski assembly PowerPoint, you can order your own Ski 2023 USB pen drive as a final souvenir from the trip.

Each pen drive costs just £7. To order, please leave a comment below with the child's name and the number of copies you'd like to order and please forward the money to Mrs Bell as soon as possible.

It's all over!

After eight wonderful days, our P7 superstars returned to their families as newly-qualified skiers!  Thank you to our excellent instructors Stefka, Stela and King who worked so hard to keep our kids safe.  Our friends at Travel Solutions always go the extra mile to look after us so a huge Brooklands thank you to Roberto, Stella, Bill and Tony - you are the best!

Thank you to all our Brooklands families for allowing your child to join us for this amazing experience.  These boys and girls will have made memories which will last a lifetime thanks to your generosity.

And of course, without the support and dedication of our teachers Mrs Bell, Mr Massey and Mr Coetzee, this trip simply could not have gone ahead.  The majority of primary schools are not prepared to organise overseas trips such as this but, as always, Brooklands does it best!

We are currently going through more than 200 photos for our awards assembly on Friday - more details to follow...

A bonus update!

After a walking tour of the historic city of Plovdiv, we're now enjoying lunch in McDonald's!

Last night we celebrated Alexis's 11th birthday with a surprise cake organised by her Nanny Jackie 🎂

See you all soon!

Day 6 - amazing memories made!

Our P7 superstars are now safely back at the hotel after a wonderful final day on the slopes.  The conditions were perfect as we enjoyed tackling a range of green and blue runs.  Our instructors were assessing our skiing throughout the day and we will find out our final grades at this evening's presentation night.

The teachers are so proud of all our boys and girls who have been excellent ambassadors for Brooklands this week.  Our P7s are a credit to their families who have given them this amazing experience - thank you!

Last night's bum boarding was such a laugh and it was definitely one of the highlights of our week.  After tonight's presentation, we'll have the delightful task of packing our suitcases.  Don't be surprised if some of your child's belongings come home in someone else's case...

There won't be any updates tomorrow as we will be travelling so please check the expected arrival time of flight LS 2182 from Plovdiv to Belfast International (due at 18.40).  We expect to hear a huge Brookies cheer when you see us!

Leave us a comment please!

Day 5 - part two!

So the storms were eventually followed by heavy snow and the whole ski area was closed as the lifts were unable to operate.  We stayed in Alex's Pub, had another beautiful lunch and then, when the snow eased a little, headed out into the winter wonderland for a snowman-building competition!  This afternoon we're enjoying an extended swim to burn off some energy...

The good news is that the conditions on the slopes tomorrow will be excellent for our final day!

Last night's bottom boarding was also postponed due to the weather so, much to Mr Massey and Mr Coetzee's delight, we went shopping for souvenirs instead!  We are very hopeful that we'll be able to head back to the slopes tonight for the bottom boarding.

Keep the comments coming please!

Day 5 - part one!

The weather has been pretty miserable here this morning and there are some storms passing through so we've decided to shelter and relax in Alex's Pub for now with the hope that we'll get skiing again later.

Everyone's chatting with their friends, drinking hot chocolate and groaning at Mr Massey's jokes - there are worse ways to spend a Friday morning!

We'll update you later ⛷️

Day 4 - getting better and better!

The fun continues here in wonderful Pamporovo and our super skiers have enjoyed a fantastic day as they navigated the green run plus some sections of the more advanced blue run!  Everyone is listening carefully to their instructor and we know that you will be so proud of them all.

Last night's bowling was fun and very competitive!  We'll announce the winners at next week's presentation assembly.  We're planning to go bottom boarding tonight - you'll probably be able to hear the squealing back in Belfast!
